Visiting Uganda’s endangered mountain gorillas

This tour through lush green Uganda is highlighted by a visit to the mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park. After a strenuous trek through the humid rainforest all that effort was finally rewarded. Jan was able to make some penetrating portraits of the gorillas at close range. The mountain gorillas, made famous in the book and film 'Gorillas in the Mist' by Dian Fossey, take centre stage in this presentation. Jan also visited the vast savannah of the Queen Elizabeth Park, where he stood face-to-face with giraffes, elephants, hippopotamuses and extraordinary tree-climbing lions. Probing portraits of local inhabitants form a permanent element of this presentation. With sensitivity and respect, Jan used a 500mm super telefoto lens to take exceptionally striking photos of these beautiful people.
