Yunnan Snub nose monkey

Yunnan snubnose monkey

What a moment, what a unbelievable adventure! During the last trip to China we suddenly stood eye to eye with the endangered yunnan snub nose monkey. Not a glimpse, but many hours we could see and photograph very close. Later, at home again, I realize what a unbelievable privilege we have had. They lives in mountainous areas with very steep slopes. To reach them you should climb with your photo equipment, that's not easy! This monkeys eats parts of plants and moss. The Yunnan Snub nose monkey is one of the most endangered ones of the three snub nose mokey species of China. The population is approximately 1500-2000 animals. Of course it is fantastic that all the travellers of this trip could photograph this. Next year again.
