Arctic

Jan has successfully captured images of the North Pole region in all its diversity. He travelled thousands of kilometres to achieve this, photographing endless landscapes, spectacular northern lights, colourful birds, and the most important of the Arctic's animal inhabitants, including the polar bear. Magnificent images portray musk oxen in the snow-covered tundra landscapes of Greenland. This mammoth project involved visits to Norway, Canada, Iceland, Finland, Spitsbergan and the Russian Arctic. The epic Arctic journey has resulted in photographs that show a wealth of diversity. Fifteen short texts by Frieda van Essen tell the tale of the historical North Pole expeditions and the accompanying artists. The book has been nominated for the International Polar Year Polar Book Fund. A unique photo book featuring 160 magnificent photos, printed on 220g FSC paper.
